Privacy

Short version: we collect as little as possible, store IP addresses only as a hash and sell nothing.

What we store

  • Your generated pub golf: title, city, participant names, challenges and route. Only to show your pub golf later.
  • A hashed IP and hashed user-agent. Only for rate limiting and lightweight stats — not traceable to you.

What we don't store

  • No email addresses or phone numbers.
  • No accounts.
  • No plain IP addresses.
  • No external analytics, no tracking pixels, no third-party cookies.

How long we keep it

Generated pub golfs are auto-deleted after 30 days. After that, participant names are no longer accessible.

Cookies

One session cookie for CSRF protection on form submissions. No marketing cookies. Our internal analytics uses no cookies.

Our internal analytics

For product improvement we keep light statistics — like how many people visit, which cities are popular and how often a PDF is downloaded. What we do and don't do:

  • IP addresses are hashed with a server-side secret. We do not store plain IPs.
  • Participant names, email addresses and free text never go into our analytics. Only aggregates like city, hole count and language.
  • We only store the host (e.g. google.com) and a category (search/social/messaging/direct/other) of where visitors come from — no full search URLs, no search terms.
  • No external analytics or tracking pixels are active by default.

Optional Google services

PubgolfMaker is prepared for Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense, but both are off by default. Only when an admin explicitly enables them via settings — and a valid EU cookie/consent policy is in place — will those scripts load. Until then, no Google tags run on this site and no visit data is sent to Google.

When GA4 is enabled, we use Google Consent Mode with all storage types set to "denied" until a user explicitly consents. Participant names and free text are never sent to Google, even then.

Advertising

Ads are off by default. If they are turned on later, we keep them quiet — below content, never in the generator or next to download buttons. We do not use sticky overlays, popups, or ads that look like navigation. Ad blocks are clearly labelled "Advertisement".
